Benjamin Sesko hit a double but it was not enough for
Manchester United who let two points slip away to Burnley in a 2-2 draw.
With
Darren Fletcher as interim manager, United started slowly and went behind after 13 minutes.
Casemiro was caught out by Bashir Humphreys' run and Ayden Heaven's weak attempt at blocking the cross saw the ball loop in off the centre-back.
But United fought back with two goals from Sesko at the start of the second half. He finished smartly from a Bruno Fernandes pass and Patrick Dorgu cross.
But United as so often, were weak again at the back with Jaidon Anthony allowed time on the edge of the area and deliver a curling finish.
Player ratings
Senne Lammens: Decision to try and read the cross from Humphreys not a good one but powerless with the second goal. Good with the ball at his feet. 6
Diogo Dalot: Tidy in possession and tried to get forward in the second half, but didn't have much of an impact. United's narrow approach didn't get him much of the ball. 6
Ayden Heaven: Turned away from the cross that saw the ball loop in off him, when he should have made himself bigger. Aggressive on the ball at times. 5
Lisandro Martinez: His weakest game since his return to the side. One wild shot and way too passive against Anthony in the area, giving the winger too much space to equalise. 5
Luke Shaw: Got forward well and had an impact in that area. Linked well with Dorgu and made some clever runs, both overlapping and underlapping. 7
Manuel Ugarte: Got quite far forward at times, and although his two shots at goal were wayward, he had a solid game and was better with the ball. 6
Casemiro: A shadow of the player who had done so well earlier in the season. Just watched Humphreys run off him for the first goal, was booked and just too slow to react at times. 4
Bruno Fernandes: Picked a brilliant pass to create the equaliser for Sesko and wanted as much of the ball as he could get. Looked a creative force. 7
Patrick Dorgu: Playing everywhere at the moment. Something of a surprise to see him on the left but gave Kyle Walker a hard time and his cross was perfect for Sesko. 7
Matheus Cunha: Quieter than he has been in recent weeks. Struggled on the right in the first half and didn't improve much for being moved centrally. 6
Benjamin Sesko: His best game for the club. Had plenty of chances, held the ball up well, took his two goals brilliantly and forced Martin Dúbravka into another good save with a fine header. 8

Kobbie Mainoo: Came on in a deep area and tried to get on the ball. 6
Joshua Zirkzee: Couple of half chances but couldn't take them. 6
Shea Lacey: So unlucky not to score with a brilliant piece of play. 7
