Manchester United midfielder Mainoo
Kobbie Mainoo hit the winner as Manchester United secured Champions League football with a 3-2 win over bitter rivals Liverpool.
United raced out of the blocks and established a two-goal lead in the first 15 minutes.
Matheus Cunha's half-volley from a corner opened the scoring before Benjamin Sesko saw Freddie Woodman's save bounce off him and into the net.
It was one-way traffic in the first half, but Amad's mistake handed Liverpool a lifeline.
He passed straight to Dominik Szoboszlai, who finished smartly from the edge of the box. It got worse when Senne Lammens passed straight to Alexis Mac Allister and Liverpool equalised within 10 minutes of the restart.
But United found the strength for a comeback. Mainoo was a fitting hero in the week he signed a new five-year contract at Old Trafford, driving home a finish from 18 yards.

Player ratings

Senne Lammens: Made his biggest mistake of the season at the worst possible moment. Pass straight to Mac Allister gifted Liverpool an equaliser. Safe hands after that. 5
Diogo Dalot: Solid enough defensively with Liverpool offering little threat down his flank. Wasted a good attacking position with a heavy pass in the first half. 6
Harry Maguire: A comfortable first half, which maybe contributed to selling himself a bit too easily when Szoboszlai dummied a shot for the goal. Turned his back and let the midfielder through. 6
Ayden Heaven: Dominant challenge on Jeremie Frimpong late in the first half and had defended well. Can't be blamed for either of Liverpool's goals. 7
Luke Shaw: Provided the cross for the second goal and defended well against Frimpong, who never got to use his pace advantage against the left back. 7
Casemiro: First time we've seen an opposition midfield find space around him since Michael Carrick's return. Struggled to stem the flow of attacks in the second half. 6
Kobbie Mainoo: Didn't hit the highs of Chelsea and Brentford from a defensive point of view, but looked good with the ball when he had the chance to go forward and a superb winner. 8
Bryan Mbeumo: A much-improved attacking display. Laid a great chance on for Fernandes and made a clever run to create an opportunity for himself after the break. 7
Bruno Fernandes: Unfortunate not to get an assist for Sesko's goal, when he laid two chances on for the striker in the space of 30 seconds. A stunning touch to control a high ball in the second half, even if he was offside. 8
Matheus Cunha: Made a great start with his goal and a lively beginning but didn't really kick on from that. Should have tested Liverpool's makeshift right-back more. 6
Benjamin Sesko: A good 45 minutes and gave Ibrahima Konate a really tough time. Just had to stand there for the goal but his contribution was positive. 7
Substitutes
Amad: Has looked low on confidence in recent weeks and first act was to give the ball away for a Liverpool goal. 5
Patrick Dorgu: Some positive runs on his return to the side. 6
Joshua Zirkzee: A late sub. N/A
Leny Yoro: Same as Zirkzee. N/A
