Manchester United picked up their second win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Saturday.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men early on when Robert Sanchez wiped out Bryan Mbeumo and was shown a red card. United made the most of their one-man advantage just nine minutes later as Bruno Fernandes prodded the ball home.
Casemiro doubled United’s lead but was sent off before half time after being shown a second yellow card. Trevoh Chalobah scored with 10 minutes to play but United held on for the win.
Here are how the players rated at Old Trafford:
Altay Bayindir
Had to keep himself warm in the first half to ensure he was not caught cold by Chelsea. No chance for Chalobah's goal. 6
Matthijs de Ligt
Made the most of Sanchez's expulsion by breaking into the final third to supplement the attack and he was defensively dominant. 7
A contentious starter yet Shaw threw his body at the ball to make the second goal possible and his physicality restricted Chelsea. Great recovery tackle. 7
Noussair Mazraoui
A big improvement on the derby. Mazraoui is usually a reluctant attacker but was ever-present in the final third and key to build-ups. 7
Casemiro
His goal was bookended by two yellow cards. Needlessly fouled Enzo Fernandez and brainlessly pulled back Andrey Santos to get sent off. 5
Bruno Fernandes
His role won't be talked about after this performance. Timed his run perfectly to put United ahead and proactive with the ball. Another inspirational performance. 8
Patrick Dorgu
Had a better understanding with Amad than at City and his superbly-guided header was converted by Fernandes. Defensively slack at times. 6
Bryan Mbeumo
Magisterial from the start. Almost scored before he secured the numerical advantage of Sanchez's dismissal and Chelsea could not get the measure of him. 8
Amad
Had a better understanding with Dorgu than at City and his movement caused Chelsea problems. Switched to a wider role in the second half. 7
Benjamin Sesko
Great flick on for Mbeumo that led to the red card. Sesko's movement was impressive and he pinned Chelsea defenders until his tactical withdrawal after Casemiro was sent off. 7
Subs
Manuel Ugarte
Came on to fill the Casemiro void. 6
Mason Mount
Industrious. 6
Matheus Cunha
Worked hard and took the game away from Chelsea. 7
Leny Yoro
Allowed Chalobah to score from a corner. 5
Kobbie Mainoo
Late cameo. 6
Manager
Seven defensive players did not instil much confidence but United started like a house on fire and the first half was perfect until Casemiro got sent off. Should not have taken Maguire off but most of the changes were logical. 7
