Roy Keane believes that
Alejandro Garnacho needs to improve his "end product" at
Manchester United.
Whether it is beating players and crossing into the box or shooting, the Argentine has struggled this season with the team generally not performing well in the final third.
He is a homegrown product and fans are keen to see him do well at the club but many have also been frustrated at the way that he has failed to deliver in promising positions.
Garnacho is far from being the only player to be underperforming in that area but it is also making it more difficult for Rasmus Hojlund whose confidence has clearly dropped off with a lack of service.
And now Keane has joined in the debate to say that Garnacho has not built on his performances from last season.
Speaking on Sky Sports, the former United captain said: "I think recently there's been huge question marks over him, I think he makes decent runs, he is a threat, he does try to make runs in behind."
But his end product has been so poor this year, particularly in recent games. That's an area of his game that, if he wants to stay at this Man United team and get Man United competing towards the top, end product is key."
He added: "So Garnacho, huge questions, I was a big fan of him last year and thought he was going to kick on but this season, but he's not as of yet."
Manager Ruben Amorim has also expressed over the last week that he needs more from him and the problem is clearly not a lack of desire. Against Manchester City he was again full of running but there was no end product once again in the 0-0 draw.
At the end of the season once again the club will consider whether it is best to cash in on the player or consider him as a player they need to retain.
