Diogo Dalot tells of what makes him most "proud" at Manchester United while his favourite moment was beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
The Portuguese fullback is one of the longest standing players at the club and he admits he has seen a lot. He has gone through difficult spells to his current good form under Michael Carrick.
Dalot looks a lot more comfortable in the back-four where he has not been stretched as much defensively and has still been able to get forward down the wing.
"One of the things I am most proud of up to today is the journey I have had, being in this position now at United where I know I can start games, having been through every scenario at the is club," he said.
"Being injured for a long time, not being an option for the manager, playing a game here and there, playing two games in a row to not playing again and then starting every game you can possibly have.
"Being able to go through all the phases as a footballer has made me really strong and balanced which I think is one of things I am most proud about."
And look at the most special moment on the pitch he singled out the FA Cup triumph over City in 2024.
"If I sit back and look at the bigger picture that is what I would say," said Dalot, referring to his own personal journey at the club.
"But if I talk about games moments I cannot tell you how emotional I was and how happy I was when we won the FA Cup.
"I felt also for the fans the FA Cup was different and the way we celebrated in the end, lifting the trophy, winning against Man City having lost the final the year before.
"This was very emotional for me and I remember the next couple of days I was in Monaco for the Formula One and I had fans coming to me and saying thank you, I was like 'thank you for what?'.
"'You won the FA Cup and it made me realise this means a lot."
Dalot also understands the importance of getting to know the history of the club and figures like Bryan Robson as well as moment such as winning the treble in 1999.
He continued: "When I arrived I wanted to know the people here, sometimes I would see Bryan Robson in the facilities and for the amount of time I have been here now I can say I know some of the club's history. 1999... it is also my birthday, and I know it is an important year for the club."
