Amad Diallo has sent a heartfelt message to Manchester United fans amid the club's ongoing struggles.
The Red Devils find themselves languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table after a dismal first half of the season.
New manager Rúben Amorim has been unable to halt the decline, with the team losing five matches in December alone.
United ended 2024 with a disappointing 2-0 loss to Newcastle at Old Trafford, where boos echoed at the final whistle.
Amid the turmoil, Diallo—one of the few bright spots this season—took to social media to acknowledge the fans’ continued support.
Sharing a black-and-white image of himself looking dejected, the Ivorian winger wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “A very difficult year, apologizing is not enough. But you have supported us and continued to do so throughout all this time. Thank you.”
The post quickly garnered positive reactions from fans, who praised Diallo for his performances and attitude. One fan commented:“You’re the only reason we still watch the games.”
Another wrote:“We keep supporting you and the club regardless.”
A third fan said:“I love you, Habibi. Don’t post black and white, cause you have been the shining light for us.”
Another supporter reassured him:“Don’t worry. No Manchester United fan is angry at you. So enjoy your holiday.”
And one added:“You are one of the only ones who doesn’t need to apologise, Amad.”
Despite Diallo’s individual brilliance—highlighted by his stunning stoppage-time winner in the Manchester Derby—United’s overall form has left them just seven points above the relegation zone after four defeats in their last five games.
Amorim has openly acknowledged the dire situation, admitting the possibility of relegation if performances do not improve.
Speaking to the press, he said:“I think that it is a possibility. We have to be clear with our fans.”
The Portuguese coach took responsibility for the team’s struggles, adding:“It is also my fault. The team is not improving.
"It is a little bit lost in this moment, and it is a bit embarrassing to be Manchester United coach and lose a lot of games. I think people are tired of excuses at this club. This club needs a shock.”
United face a daunting challenge in their next match as they travel to Anfield on Sunday to take on bitter rivals and league leaders Liverpool.
