/1. Sir Alex heaps high praise on our new Japanese playmaker. Certainly, I'm also convinced that he has all the necessary tools needed to excel in the Barclays Premier League.
Shinji’s intelligent, fast, has quick feet and works very hard. At 23 he’s a good age and already has a couple of years’ experience at a big club in Borussia Dortmund. It’s obvious he’s a very good player. We have high hopes for him.

2. David de Gea lined up for Spain in their opening game in the Olympics yesterday vs Japan coincidentally. De Gea performed OK with a couple of good saves but was unable to prevent the 1-0 defeat to the opposition. In addition, Ryan Giggs and Tom Cleverley were also involved with Team GB in their 1-1 draw with Senegal. Cleverley looked lively and Giggs his old masterful self.

3. Players who were involved with Euro 2012 are going to play in the last 3 games of the DHL pre-season tour. The likes of Rooney and Nani will be involved in order for them to get some much needed match fitness ahead of the new season. It will be good to see the established players back in the squad, but I still have some hope that Sir Alex will retain a few of the youngsters to face Barcelona.
The players who start training on Thursday will certainly be involved in the games in Norway, Sweden and Germany
