Moyes Making His Stamp

David Moyes still has over 30 days until he is officially in charge of United, but the former Everton manager has already made his presence felt at United.

Firstly, it was announced yesterday that Rio Ferdinand has signed a new one year extension to the club, meaning that Ferdinand will remain till his 35th birthday at least. Ferdinand had a great season, playing almost every game and seemed to have overcome back and thigh problems that had previously been his achilles heel. Further, he will be a valuable asset to Moyes off the field too, his experience will bring youngsters like Jones, Smalling and Keane along further and no doubt will help to create a stability within the dressing in the face od adversity.

Today, it has emerged that first-team coach Mike Phelan and Eric Steele, goalkeeping coach, will both be let go by the club with Moyes looking to bring in his own back room staff. Phelan has been with the club for over 20 years and has been a success in his coaching duties with Rene Mulensteen. Phelan looks like he will move into management whilst Steele will be sorely missed by De Gea in particular, as he has been instrumental in his development in England. Steele learnt Spanish in preparation for De Gea's arrival, marking his commitment to each individual player.

I wish them both the very best of luck in the future.

Player's Celebrations - Thank You Sir Alex

What a crazy, crazy day but I'm sure everyone concerned with Manchester United will have a twinge of sadness amongst the high we are going today, knowing that the man who has led us to 13 league titles, 5 FA cups, 4 league cups and 2 Champions League is the last time he will be sitting at the Theatre of Dreams.

As I mentioned earlier in a video that I've never knew United without Sir Alex so next year will be exciting and nervy to see how the next chapter in United's history will pan, but one's thing for sure the tradition and style Sir Alex brought to the club will not die.

Check out the gallery below from today's title celebrations!

Thanks for everything Scholesy!

Paul Scholes is set to retire (again) this season, after an illustrious career with the Reds our 'Ginger Prince' is hanging up his boots. Often regarded as the finest midfielder of his generation by his peers, amongst which are Zidane to Xavi, and this is certainly reflected by the fans' affection for the quiet man of the dressing room.

I went to Paul Scholes' Testimonial back in 2011, when he decided to retire for the first time and only when his quality is taken away from the team that you realise, all this time you have been witnessing the work of a genius week in week out. The short five yard pass, the spectacular fifty yard pass, the defence splitting ball? Scholes was able to produce them all and my personal favourite story of his passing ability is recalled by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo had been doing tricks and Scholes strolls over and says 'see that tree over there? I'm going to hit it' and hits it first time. Consequently, Ronaldo tried ten times, but didn't hit the tree so Scholes gave him a smile and then went home. Classic Scholes.

I just the unassuming way he goes about his business, never in the lime light just want to play football then go home to his kids. It's this sort of quality that I'm sure Sir Alex loved to get into young players, placing Scholes on the podium to showcase what the consummate professional should be.

Next stage for Scholes is going back to his coaching role at under-21 levels, but before he leaves the lime light for good, let's cherish the memories our Ginger Prince has given us over the last twenty years.

Thanks 'Scholesy'

Specials: Sir Alex Retires, Moyes Confirmed As Replacement

What can I say but a crazy 48 hours, Sir Alex retiring was one of those days you knew was coming but never wanted it to come. He has obviously thought long and hard about it and thought that the club and the institution is in the best shape for someone else to take the baton on. David Moyes is the chosen one and I cannot wait to see how he will do at the club.
